Artists in our Community | Deadly Arts

Visual Arts Age 5-12

Be inspired by the multidisciplinary artist Tyrown Waigana as he discusses his art, his influences and shares his insights into a recent school mural project he worked on at Medina Primary School in Perth, based on the Noongar six seasons. The Song Room Teaching Artist, Rickeeta Walley, shares valuable information about Noongar culture and provides insightful information to teachers and students who are planning to connect and engage with their First Nations communities.

Throughout the Deadly Arts Visual Arts lessons, students are encouraged to ‘think like artists’. They reflect, ask questions, explore different materials and processes and respond and express their ideas about the world around them using nature as their inspiration.
