ARTS:LIVE Partners with Queensland Ballet for New Resource

Little Red Riding Hood Queensland Ballet Fairy Tale Dance

ARTS:LIVE is thrilled to present our newest resource, Fairy Tale Dance, produced in collaboration with Queensland Ballet and featuring their production of Little Red Riding Hood.

Ballet is one of the most loved art forms. Fairy Tale Dance will provide your students with a rare insight into what it takes to stage a ballet production at one of Australia’s leading ballet companies.

The resource is presented as an exclusive backstage pass, offering your students tips from theatre professionals on how to create their very own performance using everyday objects found in the classroom or at home.

Teachers will love the links to literacy presented in this classic fairy tale and included in the lesson plans.

Acclaimed Choreographer Lucas Jervies and Costume Designer Noelene Hill will explain how to use gestures, movements and clothing to establish characters. Composer, Tristan Parr and Lighting Designer, Benjamin Cistern, show students how they use different styles of music and lighting to establish mood and drama.

Fairy Tale Dance includes three captivating videos that will inspire your students to use movement as a tool for self-expression and includes four in-depth lesson plans with step by step guides on how to bring characters and productions to life.

ARTS:LIVE has great resources which provide links to literacy through Arts Learning. Why not try Create an Alphabet DanceThe Listies Make a Scene or From Page to Stage.

The lessons in Fairy Tale Dance use the elements of dance to extend students reading comprehension and language development. They also foster a love of classic literature and books, while encouraging students to develop their own interpretations of stories. They’re extremely simple to use and just like every course on ARTS:LIVE, you don’t need specialist skills to get great results.
