FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WITH DAN RUF RETURNS TO A PIECE OF WORK, INC.
A Piece of Work, Inc. is excited to announce that due to popular demand, Member Artist Dan Ruf will be teaching another Beginning Digital Photography Class beginning March 3rd!
The Beginning Digital Photography Class will consist of 4-two hour sessions. Beginning Saturday, March 3rd, the class will meet for four Saturday afternoons (March 3, 10, 17 and 24) from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. The registration fee is $80.00 per participant and class size will be limited to 10, so register early to ensure a seat as this class has filled quickly in the past.

If the March class doesn’t fit into your schedule, Dan will be teaching two other Beginner level Digital Photography classes this year in April (Thurs. nights from 5-7pm) and May (Sat. mornings from 10am to noon). For those interested in learning even more about digital photography, Dan will be teaching an Intermediate class Saturday afternoons in June (must have taken his Beginning class in order to take the Intermediate).

Pearson Lakes Art Center Presents
GEORGE KAHUMOKU JR. & KEOKI KAHUMOKU
One of the great traditions in Hawaiian Slack Key guitar—indeed in all Hawaiian culture—is the passing on of music and cultural practices from one generation to the next. This intimate concert offers you the rare opportunity to experience the warm bond of father and son, sharing a slack key geneology even as each makes ki-ho‘alu (slack key) stylings his own. Four-time Grammy-winner, master slack key guitarist George Kahumoku Jr., known as Hawai‘i’s Renaissance Man, is also a multiple Na Hōkū Hanohano (Hawaiian Grammy) Award winner. Keoki Kahumoku, fifth generation slack-key guitarist, began performing with his father George and his uncle Moses Kahumoku; like his dad, his performance is as much about his relaxed, engaging “talk story” as his wide Hawaiian repertoire. A family affair, this concert will also include hula by George’s wife Nancy.
Share the true aloha of Hawaiian family traditions with captivating slack key guitar, along with hilarious stories, down-home vocals, and heartwarming melodies in this very special concert on Tuesday, February 21, at 7:30 p.m.
George plays on the soundtrack for the recent George Clooney film The Descendants.
George will be accompanied by his son and fifth generation slack-key guitarist Keoki Kahumoku began performing with his father, George Kahumoku, Jr., and his uncle, Moses Kahumoku, in 1990.
The experience will start with a Hawaiian Luau at the PLAC, served by Remington’s Restaurant. Then visit our Hawaiian experience stations, Sunset Travel’s vacation planning booth, pineapple tasting table, chocolate covered macadamia nut samples, This Week Oahu’s Publications table, sweet Maui onion chips tasting, and so much more.
Reservations Required.
Call the box office at 712-332-7029 for reservations to the show and the Luau.
