The Okoboji Summer Theatre is located on Highway 71 between Okoboji and Spirit Lake. It is owned and operated by Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri for the purpose of providing commercial summer stock experience for Theatre students. Stephens students and staff produce 9 entertaining and well-attended plays and musicals every summer. The plays run for seven performances in six days, Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays as a changeover day for the next production. Stephens took over the operations of the Okoboji Summer Theatre from Grinnell College in 1958. The Theatre is actually an old airplane hangar that was built by the WPA for the City of Spirit Lake. There is also a Children's Theatre called the Boji Bantam.
